RFID Solutions for Healthcare

RFID supports the secure capture of samples, accessories, consumables, and medical resources directly at the device, in the lab, and in clinical operations.

Unique sample identification

Secure device management

Transparent process documentation

SOLUTION

RFID for Laboratory and Analysis Devices

HF/NFC embedded modules like the iDTRONIC M890 can be integrated directly into laboratory, analysis, or evaluation devices. The compact module design allows integration into existing device platforms from manufacturers of medical and laboratory systems. Test strips, sample containers, or lab carriers are captured directly at the device via RFID and uniquely assigned.

This results in faster processes at the device and a reliable basis for automated laboratory processes.

SOLUTION

Authentication of Accessories and Consumables

Integrable modules like the HF/NFC Module R835 enable automatic verification of accessories, components, and consumables directly at the medical or laboratory device. Reagents, cartridges, tubes, filters, adapters, or sample holders can be equipped with an RFID transponder and identified before use. The device checks whether the material used is suitable for the application, the device, or the approved process.

This ensures that only suitable accessories are used and reduces misapplications during operation.

SOLUTION

Automated Inventory System

Mobile assets in facilities can be automatically tracked using UHF RFID readers like the iDTRONIC RFline E4 and suitable gate antennas. Beds, transport trolleys, medical devices, etc., are tagged with RFID transponders and recorded at defined transition points, storage rooms, or capture points. This makes it traceable which resources pass through an area or were last recorded.

This reduces search times and allows medical resources to be utilized more efficiently in daily operations.

SOLUTION

Kanban Replenishment Control

RFID Kanban shelves support the automatic reordering of consumables. Empty containers or material boxes are placed in a defined detection area and automatically registered, for example with the  RFline U1 reader. This allows a replenishment process for items such as sample containers, reagents, disposables, or laboratory accessories to be triggered.

This keeps the material flow reliably organized and ensures that critical consumables are available again in good time.
